Course Objectives:

This course aims to qualify engineers and technicians to understand, design, and implement all types of electrical panels — including main panels, sub-panels, generator panels, and UPS panels — in accordance with international and local standards.
Participants will learn the principles of circuit breaker selection, load distribution, schematic drawing, and preparation of technical schedules using Excel and AutoCAD in a practical and professional manner.

Training Content:

🔹 Lecture 1:
Introduction to Electrical Panels – Types and Components

  • Understanding the different types of electrical panels.

  • Explanation of main components: Busbars, Circuit Breakers (MCB, MCCB, ACB, RCCB, MPCB), Contactors, Relays, Surge Protection Devices (SPD), Measuring Meters, and Indicator Lights.

🔹 Lecture 2:
Drawing Electrical Panel Diagrams (Single Line Diagram – SLD)

  • Standard symbols and terminologies used in electrical panel diagrams.

  • Preparation of main and sub-distribution diagrams.

  • Coordinating layouts on AutoCAD and linking them with load schedules.

🔹 Lecture 3:
Types of Loads and Practical Calculations

  • Preparing Load Schedules and Panel Schedules using Excel and AutoCAD.

  • Calculating current, breaker capacity, and voltage drop.

  • Accurate selection of Busbar size, Main & Sub Breakers, and Cable Sections.

🔹 Lecture 4:
Design of Generator and UPS Panels

  • Operation principle of Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) panels.

  • Design of Generator Synchronization Panels.

  • Design of UPS Panels for critical loads.

  • System integration between grid, generator, and UPS for reliable power continuity.

Note: The course is conducted in Arabic.
